Low Maintenance Decking

WPC’s decking options are water resistant – mildew proof and non cracking. As well as improving durability, the anti UV agent helps the boards to resist colour fade however some fading will occur but this should be no more than to give your deck an attractive weathered look to areas exposed to sunlight. WPC Decking can be easily cleaned with a jet wash or a simple hose down meaning they are a low maintenance alternative to wood.

The narrow-spaced grooves on our decking boards are functional as well as stylish it creates a nearly non slip surface, coupled with the strength and durability of the material, the low-slip design means decking is suitable for areas that may get some surface water.

Traditional timber decks are expensive to buy and install. A composite deck is a fraction of the price and there are very little maintenance costs or upkeep and no professional installation fees.

How to maintain and clean my decking?

Its easy to maintain and clean your decking it takes very little time and makes a big difference. You are going to enjoy outside living and entertaining watch out out for spills and wipe them up immediately to prevent the deck board staining.

General maintenance, brush off excess dirt and debris off the boards and from in the gaps between the decking boards as needed to stop algae and mould growing.

We recommend washing down the whole deck with a soft scrubbing brush and soapy water, before rinsing clean with a hose Areas subject to higher mould growth may need power washing but avoid this if possible with strong acidic cleaners, best to use is a bleach free cleaner which are readily available from any DIY store.

Non Slip Decking

All Deckafence decking is double sided the narrow-spaced grooves on one side of our our boards is functional as well as stylish it creates a low slip, without taking any strength out of the Wpc material, the low-slip Deckafence decking means it’s suitable for most areas that may get some surface water. We always advise to allow water to run off and away from any building.

Composite decking when wet

All Wpc decking can be slippery when it is covered with ice, water or the common algae. Wpc decking is much more non-slip than traditional timber decking as it is designed to minimize the growth of mould and green algae. Keeping the decking regularly clean and brushing any loose dirt and debris from on and in between the deck boards and wash the surface down with soapy water.

Extreme Temperatures

Extreme temperature changes could cause the boards to expand or contract. Ensure boards have had sufficient time to acclimatise to the temperature before installing. Do not install in extreme temperatures.
